Golden Pearl Beach is the beginning of Koh Jum’s big stretch of sand along its southern western coast. There are several great resorts along here, including the beautiful Koh Jum Beach Villas.
Golden Pearl Beach is part of Koh Jum’s biggest stretch of sand – it directly connects with Andaman Beach and the two beaches run from the middle of the island’s coastline all the way down to the south western tip of Koh Jum. If you like a change of scenery and to eat in different resorts rather than just the place you’re staying at, staying on Golden Pearl Beach or Andaman Beach gives you lots of choice as you have access to all the resorts built along both beaches.
The other great thing is that there is plenty of space on the beach – no crowds, no towels on sunloungers at dawn.
Like all of Koh Jum’s west coast beaches, Golden Pearl Beach is perfectly positioned to catch the amazing sunsets that happen over the Andaman Sea each evening.
Golden Pearl Beach Accommodation
Koh Jum Beach Villas is by far the most luxurious place to stay on Koh Jum, with a stunning collection of family villas in a tropical garden right next to the beach. The villas have had a lot of thought put into their design and layout, and the large amount of five star reviews from guests is testament to this.
The neighbouring Koh Jum Lodge has some great traditional-style Thai wooden bungalows up on stilts and also surrounded by a well-kept garden. These bungalows are very generously sized and somewhat more upmarket than the usual Thai huts. See more photos of the interior of Koh Jum Lodge rooms.
Within the grounds of Koh Jum Beach Villas is the Urban Cafe, which serves excellent coffee with real milk rather than UHT milk if you are in need of a proper caffiene fix, and also a great selection of dishes with friendly staff.
Further north up the beach are the Golden Pearl Resort and Season Bungalow – Season in particular gets rave reviews from guests.
Golden Pearl is also a great operation with spacious bungalows and is the home of FUBAR, a Koh Jum beach bar institution.
Further south, Golden Pearl Beach continues seamlessly into Andaman Beach, making it easy to have a change of scenery and visit other resorts just by walking along the sand.
How To Get To Koh Jum’s Golden Pearl Beach
Thanks to Golden Pearl Beach’s central location on Koh Jum, it’s easy to get to any of the resorts here either by the traditional way of jumping off the Koh Lanta ferry onto the longtail boat from your chosen resort that will be waiting for you, or by coming in from Krabi by longtail boat to Mutu Pier on Koh Jum’s west coast and getting a pickup truck to drive you across the island to your resort on Golden Pearl Beach.
It’s a short drive from Golden Pearl Beach along sandy tracks from the resorts back onto Koh Jum’s main road if you want to go and explore the island further.
